Mold is a growing problem in the U.S. Listed below are 10 cities that those with a mold allergy should be concerned about.

It may not surprise readers that Florida is the state with a big mold problem. Heat and humidity are known to provide an ideal breeding ground for mold, and the Sunshine State has both in abundance. Miami lies just a few miles from the Everglades, and features many older buildings that are not built to be mold-resistant.

Houston, TX

Charleston, SC
Charleston is located in an ideal climate for mold, but the climate is not the main factor in the city’s mold problems. The majority of buildings in Charleston are quite old and built in a manner where harmful mold can thrive.

Las Vegas, NV
The data regarding Las Vegas’ mold problem surprised many when revealed, including some experts. It is thought the problem exists because of the style of the city’s buildings (similar to Charleston).

Phoenix, AZ
As with Las Vegas and Charleston, buildings in Phoenix tend to be havens for mold. This is common in many cities with recent developments that were built quickly and may not have had the proper construction methods to avoid mold intrustion?

San Diego, CA
